Google Android will eventually be released on Netbooks and many are predicting that this year will be the year of Android. When taking a step back and looking at both the state of the Netbook market and the state of Android itself I think that 2010 will actually be when it starts to break out. Right now Android is still not ready for mainstream Netbooks and even if it were ready, people would still opt for Windows XP instead of another flavor of Linux.
This is one of the first videos of Android running on a Netbook and while somethings do look relatively fast it is clear that there are some bugs to be worked out. This video does show one very important thing, it boot’s very fast. From the boot menu it starts up in about 11 seconds and is ready to go.

Boots from what state? Sleep, hibernate or fully off? The real questions are around what state it is coming out of when the clock starts running, how compatible it is with what people what to get done and do and what devices it will be delivered on.
The beta version of Windows 7 can boot in significantly less than 11 seconds in sleep mode… in hibernate my machine took 27 seconds to get to the logon screen, from sleep it was 4 seconds.
