piratedsoftware
Software piracy is always a problem for any company that makes applications which are either not open source or free. Software crackers are always hard at work to try and break protection methods whatever that may be. Sometimes they treat it as challenge and others they are trying to just make their friends think they are cool.
Most software companies just accept it as a lost and try to move on. Others get creative and invest massive amounts of time into developing new methods of protection. Some even take it as a compliment that their software is desired enough that it is pirated. One company has taken the first approach but with a new twist. Simple acknowledgment and a guilt trip.
**Your registration code is a PIRATE one. **
We can’t stop the hackers that generate codes, so we’ll accept your registration anyway. However, there’s one thing you should know: you’re not stealing money from the big guys this time. You’re stealing from people who count on your honesty to make a living.
To hackers: we can play this game forever, but it’s not fun. More cracks, more checks. Why don’t we stop here? We already accept your codes, what else should we do?
My favorite part is the final button the user has to click on “Shame On Me”
