Browser wars have always been interesting and Apple is continuing to add to the fun by releasing Safari for Windows. Yesterday they released the version 4 beta which has been widely downloaded but not everyone is happy about it or finding it very functional. It appears right now as if the bulk of the problems are showing up on OS X machines and not Windows.
There have been a lot of changes overall most of which mimic the features of their competition. One of the most noted new features is called “Top Sites” which is very similar to Opera’s Speeddial but of course Apple’s version has a lot more eye candy. Some of the new features are intuitive but others still need some work.
Apple will have a hard time convincing hardcore Firefox users to switch but with it’s polished look and faster speeds it is sure to attract a larger market share.
