There is a new Mac Trojan in the wild but this one has a rather nice delivery method, iWork 09. People are downloading iWork 09 via torrent sites and then installing it on their Apple computers. When they execute the installer it asks for the users Admin password and then launches a Trojan horse called OSX.Trojan.iServices.A giving it full control of the system.
A company called Intego discovered it (I wonder how?) and then issued a press release about it. They found that after the Trojan has administrative powers it contacts a remote server to report that it is available for use. As of 6 AM EST this morning more than 20,000 people have downloaded the infected software.
I was always under the impression that Macs were incapable of being infected by malware. At least that’s what the sales guy told me……
Check It Out> Press Release , And while your at it install iAntiVirus
ok, let’s get this straight. Somebody downloads a file from the web, puts there ADMIN PASSWORD in and is surprised to find that something bad can happen?
Ya, it’s a real bitch to get malware on the mac. Let’s see…on the mac, you have to PUT YOUR FREAKING PASSWORD IN..on windoze? Just navigate to some random website.
