When someone says the phrase “Windows 95‘s glory days” in my mind I typically remember having to fix other people’s problems with it. However when Windows 95 first released it was widely accepted as an excellent operating system and Microsoft could not produce enough of it fast enough. On launch day people were grabbing as many boxes as they could with a huge smile on their face.
Rob Enderle of Tech News World has reminded us all of just how it was when Windows 95 launched. The release of Windows 7 will more than likely be the first time since Windows 95 that consumers will rush to the store to buy it. With the wide acceptance of the Windows 7 beta program and the beta period ending on August 1st there will be many people missing the Windows 7 experience. That alone might be enough to make people rush out and buy it on release day.
