In yet another desperate attempt to maintain it’s monopoly in the smartphone market Apple has officially declared that Jailbreaking is illegal. Jailbreaking is the process of unlocking the phone to work with other carriers and manipulate the iPhones OS. This is surprisingly close on the heels of Palm’s CEO saying he is not worried about Apple. This is starting to look like Apple is feeling the jaws of the competition closing in getting ready to take a big bite out of their market share.

The CEO of Palm is talking to Investors today and so far things are looking very good for Palm and the Palm Pre. They are making some very smart moves and are going to attract a very large customer base. The quick highlights:
