The European Union is at it again and has ordered Microsoft to remove Internet Explorer from Windows. They claim that including an Internet browser with Windows is unfair to the competition and hurts innovation.
I have to stand-up for Microsoft on this one. Seriously how dumb are these guys making these laws? They are so smart that they have not even thought of how the user is going to download an alternative browser! Great now that IE is no longer packaged the user is going to have to go to an Internet cafe and download Opera or Mozilla then return home and install it. Isn’t it just easier to leave things alone and let them be?
I have not heard of the EU complaining that Apple bundles Safari with it’s operating system. What about Linux or gOS with the bundling of a browser? It’s a monopoly on that end for Mozilla but no one is complaining about it. As usual the European Union is just trying to be all self-important and make others bend to their wishes or face heavy fines.
