Windows 7It looks like Windows 7 is at the Release Candidate (RC) stage and will be released to testers sometime soon, possibly even next Friday February 27th. There have been many screenshots that have been surfacing with the 703x as the build number and now there is a confirmed “7048.winmain_win7rc1.090211-1625″. The most important thing with this string is the inclusion of “win7rc1″ which means “Windows 7 Release Candidate 1″.
While this is all speculation one thing is for sure and that is that Microsoft is moving very fast on this one as they should. They are losing money every day with Windows Vista in the market and really need a push to help their business out. Hopefully they don’t push it too fast and end up with a crippling bug that causes average consumers to shy away from the initial release and wait for the first Windows 7 Service Pack before they buy it.
